Worth the wait.
That's the best way to describe this past Sunday's kickoff to Hope in a House of Blues with special guest musician Mike Farris. Farris gifted those in attendance with honest, soul-stirring lyrics and emotion and recapped his life story - that of a man once lost in the downward spiral of addiction who has returned to God and found peace therein. Over the next three weeks, Lake Forest will continue to look at living in a world of tragedy, despair and suffering (using the Book of Lamentations as context), and seek to find Hope in the midst of these circumstances. As we press into the heartache and ruin of the Blues, we'll find and celebrate the Hope, which is that God's work continues to "restore the places long devastated" (Isaiah 61:4).
This week, Lake Forest continues blues worship with special guest musician Matt Lundgren. Join us at 8am, 9:30am or 11am each Sunday through November 1 for services that will be a sweet balm for the ravaged heart.
